As industry leaders, we offer only the finest llamas available. Our extensive inventory includes both female and male llamas, selectively bred for exceptional performance in packing and breeding.
Female llamas for sale
Mature Brood Females
We offer a limited number of mature brood females each year to make room for replacement females. These girls are solid producers and have been part of our brood herd because they produce the strong stock on which we have built our packing/breeding operation. We typically offer 6-10 of these girls. Contact us regarding age and history.
1 1/2 - 2 Year Old Replacement Females
We offer a few of our 1 ½-2 year old replacement females. These girls have been in pack training since weaning and are ready to breed as well. They will make great packers or brood females. Contact us with the details of how you want to use these girls.
Weanling Females
We sell newly weaned females for those wanting to begin earlier personal handling of their stock. They will be minimally trained and handled as we do not initiate handling until our llamas are fully weaned and adjusted to maternal separation.
Male llamas for sale
Inventory
We maintain an inventory of +/- 40 pack males, three years of age or older, for use in the Buckhorn Llama Co. rental program.
Training Program
All the males produced by Great Divide Llamas enter the Buckhorn training program at 6 months of age.
Fit Your Needs
We sell males of all ages and levels of experience and can typically match our client’s needs whether they are doing personal or commercial pack trips.
Studs & Geldings
All studs and geldings are part of our lease string.
Performance Assessment
At three years old, we assess each male's breeding potential, gelding 75% and further evaluating the top 25%. All males continue to pack, and their pack performance is a key factor in breeding decisions.
